Welcome to our Winter Family Retreat Registration. We’re always happy to see new faces and you’re always welcome!
This time, the retreat will take place at the Purity Spring Resort in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. This New Hampshire Ski Resort is located between Mt. Washington Valley and Lakes Region Area, about 1.5-2.5 hours from various Massachusetts locations.
The exact address is
King Pine at Purity Spring Resort, NH
1251 Eaton Road, Route 153
Madison, NH 03849
We will have 2 types of lodging there:
Lux units include a 2-bedroom suite, a kitchenette, a waiting area, and a full bathroom attached to it. Lux units are closer to the Pool and Hot Spa, but a few hundred feet further from the King Pine Mountain.
Basic units include 1 room and a full bathroom attached to it. Most of Basic Units are closer to the Mountain (some of them ski or snow tube in/out) and further away from the Pool.
Both types of units have bedding and linens, so you don’t need to bring your own this time. Both types of units have their own heating regulating system.
In Summer times, all units are very close to each other, all distances are walkable, but in the Winter, it could be really snowy and no place to walk – only to drive. A Shuttle goes every 20 min from 7 am to 9 pm to the Mountain, Pool, and between the lodges. The lodges where our classes will take place, and the dining room are all in a walking distance (and you don’t need to take a shuttle in-between them, just walk.
The most common question is: Why do we call it a Retreat and not a Camp? Well, there are a few reasons, but most importantly is that winter housing is more expensive than the summer housing, and since we’re trying to keep the cost affordable, we cannot afford as many classes and as many age-defined groups, as during the summer family camp.
Don’t get me wrong – you will have plenty of activities to choose from and we’re currently working on a very engaging program, but in terms of number of groups/activities per group, Winter retreat is not as intensive, as our Summer camps.
Your cost, as always, includes Lodging, Boarding, and all Jookender Activities, in addition to unlimited use of Pool/Hot Tub, Skating Ring, X-country ski trails, and snowshoeing. We will also provide a very discounted rate on all Alpine ski and snowtubing activities, only available with the lodging, as a part of our group.
There are 2 sections in the Registration form, one is regular, asking for your information, children, food allergies, etc. and another one is called ‘a la carte’. This second section works independently. Meaning, if you wish to purchase your lift tickets or anything else later, you may, without re-entering all information again. So, you may book the room now to ensure it won’t be sold out, and purchase your tickets in February – any time before February 20 to get an advantage of the discounts. The ‘a la carte’ pricing stays the same until the end of registration (February 20). The room rate goes up after December 31, 2019.
Most of the rooms are for 3-4 people in the room. We have a few larger rooms that can fit 5-6 people. If your family is only 2 people, then there probably will be a case of paring you with another 2-person family of the same gender adult and child.
Children under 3 years old stay and eat free.
Children under 6 years old get the lift tickets free.
We will be willing to accommodate a few adult volunteers that agree to lead Cooking or some unusual craft classes for kids and/or adults, , if they come with their family and pay for the other members of the family.
We will try to accommodate up to 15 Teen Volunteers, especially skilled in winter sports.
20 Basic units and 4 Lux units are available now at the Early Bird Special. Early Bird Special ends on or before 12/31/2019 or until all units are sold. Once they are sold, we might have some extra units added, at the regular price, even if it’s before the end of the year.
Our Refund Policy for Lodging, Boarding and Activities:
• 100% refund until 12/31/2019
• 70% refund until 02/20/2020
• 0% (no refund) after 02/20/2020
Refund policy for ‘a la carte’ section:
• 100% return until 02/20/2020
• 0% (no refund) after 02/20/2020
We highly recommend you to purchase travel insurance in case if you won’t be able to make it. Jookender WILL NOT be able to accommodate any refunds after the registration deadline
Our Teen program will be supported by The Jewish Education Project, with generous funding from the Genesis Philanthropy Group, in addition to Jim Joseph and CJP foundations.
Our full schedule will be available closer to the camp.
