Jookender Mission and Approach
Jookender supports, strengthens, and sustains Russian speaking Jewish communities in Greater Boston, New England, and the world.
Jookender Mission is:
- To support 1st generation refugee community of Russian and Ukrainian-speaking families with children under 18 y.o.
- To fight Antisemitism
- To support disengaged Seniors
- To improve mental state of teenagers and teen-parent relationships
- To keep and nurture cultural Jewish identity without a religious aspect of it
- To promote equality and justice
- To help Women and Girls to realize their potential and regain confidence in their abilities
- To support the mental health of the community
- To enrich education perspectives for the 1st generation refugee families
- To build a strong, vibrant, and giving-back community
In a welcoming, non-judgmental environment, Jookender offers family-friendly programs and activities that help Russian speaking Jewish individuals and families find their place in the Boston Jewish community and beyond.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Jookender's programs and activities are led by professionally trained, knowledgeable, and multi-lingual staff who know, teach, and demonstrate Jewish values. Working directly with families, educators, and volunteers, Jookender sparks a love of Israel and Jewish Peoplehood by building family bonds and community bridges.
