High School Students, are you ready to complete your 2.5 months project while gaining invaluable skills and experience? Jookender Community Initiatives, a local Jewish nonprofit, is
offering a unique internship/study program designed to empower students like you to build resilience, develop leadership skills, and explore meaningful topics that can positively impact your
future.
Choose Your Path
We offer three exciting internship categories tailored to your interests and passions:
- History/Social Justice
Explore the fight against antisemitism and research ways to address modern-day challenges with confidence and knowledge.
- Journalism
Learn to express your own opinion while mastering your writing skills and producing bylined and pen written articles.
- Grant Writing
Develop your writing skills by working on real-world projects and crafting impactful grant proposals.
- Finance/Fundraising
Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit financial operations, budgeting, and fundraising strategies.

What to Expect
- Online format: All work is done online so that you can combine this study with your school and after-school activities.
- Easy Commitment: Only 4 meetings to attend.
- Collaborative Environment: While each work is individual, you'll have time to collaborate with peers during our meetings.
- Focus on Antisemitism: Deepen your understanding of antisemitism and strategies to stand against it through research and guided mentorship.
Important Days
- Thursdays: April 3 - 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm, May 1 - 8:30 - 9:30 pm, May 22, 8:30-9:30 pm, June 5, 8:30 - 9:30 pm
- Flexible Individual Zoom meetings can be scheduled at any time, in accordance with your schedule, and only if you need them to proceed.
Important Details
- Fee and Eligibility: A registration fee is required upfront. We reserve the right to conduct background checks and may reject an application, with the registration fee
fully refunded if this occurs.
- Unpaid internship: While unpaid, each student can win a stipend for the best work - based on the decision of our independent jury. The stipend may cover 50% to 150% of the program's cost.
- Ongoing: The internship is an ongoing possibility. Once accepted, you may renew your application and, upon confirmation from us, continue working on our projects and maybe even become a Team Lead.
- Flexible and Supportive: We work with each participant to ensure a meaningful and compliant experience.
